Monad

Monad (from the Ancient Greek "monas", meaning "unit") evokes a self-sufficient, single-celled organism containing multiple universes. Alexandra “Spicey” Landé, a leading figure in Quebec hip hop dance, embodies this Monad.

Inspired by this elemental substance, she explores the symbiotic relationship between her body, dance, and hip hop culture. Materials and sounds form, transform, and adapt through interactions.

Monad offers a vibrant reflection on the connections between interrelated universes and, through movement, questions the very notion of eternity.
