International market missions

Presentation

The Quebec on Stage export missions provide access to international performing arts markets, festivals, platforms, and professional networks, including those specializing in dance, circus, music, theatre and object theatre.
Depending on your objectives, you can participate in either a collective mission or a familiarization mission. Participation in these missions is by application only and is subject to the specific criteria and terms of each mission.

Collective Missions

The collective missions enable Quebec-based companies, artists and agents to access international markets and platforms through a coordinated collective presence, involving a shared stand or other visibility opportunities, depending on the event. This format enhances participants’ visibility, fosters professional meetings and networking, and provides access to lectures and professional activities within a shared framework that strengthens Quebec’s international profile. The benefits include a stronger collective presence and shared costs for participating in markets.

Familiarization Missions

Familiarization missions guide small groups in discovering festivals, platforms, markets, regions or targeted professional networks. The itinerary includes site visits, networking and meet-and-greet activities, and depending on the context, presentation sessions. These curated trips aim to improve understanding of industry codes, develop concrete points of reference in the field and assess a market’s potential for your initiative. These trips are designed to provide support, facilitate learning, and promote an understanding of the local context.

CINARS’s Strategic Prospecting Missions

These missions, which are carried out by CINARS for the purposes of prospecting, strategic monitoring and partnership development, are not part of a program involving companies or agents.

What CINARS covers

CINARS coordinates, promotes, and supports missions, depending on the format and event.

This may include:

Logistics: managing registrations, coordinating participation, renting booths, stands, and technical equipment
Promotion and communications: creating visuals, promotional web pages, newsletters, invitations, and other visibility tools for companies and the delegation
Support and guidance: pre-departure preparatory meetings, on-site support, presence at the booth or in common areas, connecting participants with key professionals, surveys, and post-mission follow-up
Networking and professional meetings: coordinating meetings, supporting initial contacts, and meeting with local or institutional partners (including, where applicable, cultural attachés)
Representation activities: presentations or pitches of Quebec creations, when relevant
Institutional visibility activities: receptions or networking events in collaboration with partners or delegations, when relevant
Scouting and prospecting visits: visits to venues, festivals, or performance spaces as part of strategic prospecting missions

What is not included in our services

Eligibility requirements

Applicants must be agents or representatives of an arts company or artist headquartered in Quebec (please note that we only accept one representative per company);
They must have at least one show ready and available for international touring in dance, theatre, circus, music, or object theatre;
They must have the necessary financial and human resources to undertake marketing efforts in the relevant regions;
They must demonstrate a willingness and ability to develop projects and collaborate internationally.

Selection criteria

Follow up

Following the mission(s), CINARS requests a report from participants and shares the information with the Quebec Ministry of Culture and Communications (MCCQ) and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ).
We encourage applications from visible minorities, Indigenous peoples, people of all sexual orientations and gender identities, and others who can contribute to the diversification of theatre, dance, circus, or music.
