Folk-Bossa

About
Brazilian multi-instrumentalist Gabriel Schwartz is a virtuoso performer on wind instruments, strings, and percussion. His solo album was a finalist for the 2023–2024 Opus Prize in the “World Music Album of the Year” category.
His new project, "Folk-Bossa", is built around the idea of blending North American folk music with Brazilian bossa nova. By bringing these two musical traditions together, the project creates a bridge between the cultures of Brazil and North America. Joined by Bianca Rocha (vocals, ukulele, percussion), Dominique Poirier (accordion, guitar), and Sacha Daoud (drums), Gabriel presents his debut EP.
Featuring songs in Portuguese, French, and English, alongside original instrumental pieces, Folk-Bossa invites audiences on a musical journey rooted in tradition, poetry, and contemporary creativity.
The result is a rich and engaging soundscape marked by subtlety and refinement—at times contemplative, at times lighthearted—offering listeners an intimate and memorable encounter with diverse musical influences.
